KS C 9832:2023 to KS C 9832:2024

KS C 9832:2024 – Key Changes, Testing Restrictions, and Compliance Guidance

The updated standard applies to all new products entering the market and to any existing products that have been modified. Products already on the market without any changes may continue to comply with the previous standard.

The changes include:

  • The update in CISPR 32: 2015 (adopted into KS C 9832: 2024) allows slightly more flexibility for selecting video patterns when testing video ports.
  • Voltage probe clarification in calculations; a technical update for accuracy stemming from the base standard (CISPR 32)
  • Additionally, the update clarifies the application of the standard for Korean product approvals, regarding the application timing of Article 4, paragraph 14

The key differences align with those in the transition from CISPR 32: 2012 to CIPSR 32: 2015. However, Korea does not accept test results from a Fully Anechoic Room (FAR) or GHz Transverse ElectroMagnetic (GTEM) or Reverberation Chamber (RVC) test facilities.

The stated changes include:

  • Additional requirements for outdoor unit of home satellite receiving systems
  • Numerous maintenance items are addressed to improve the testing of MME
  • Omission of requirements for Outdoor satellite broadcasting systems, and FAR, GTEM and RVC facilities.
  • Addition of user’s manual statements for class B equipment.
  • Display devices may use colorbar patters either from ITU-BT 1729 spec or NIRA BT 471-1 specs
  • Clarifying applicability date
